In case you didn’t know, the fashion house Gucci has been under a major rebranding and reimaging since the appointment of Alessandro Michelle as the label’s creative director. Gone are the days of an overstated “Euro trash” Gucci and instead its replacement oozes romance and whimsy. The new Gucci man and woman is an ingénue with an eccentric side—a combination of vintage silhouettes with quirk and a dash of magpie style. In a time where norm core and a muted monochromatic palette seem to be all the rage, it’s refreshing to find that Gucci chooses to celebrate individuality and one of a kind looks—what fashion should really be about!
I decided to snag myself a bit of Alessandro’s designs for my feet since we all know that statement footwear is my one true vice. I paired the Gucci bloom slip ons with a blue color scheme to add my own dose of quirk. Who knows? Maybe I’ll start wearing more color than I normally do and you’ll see me really dressed to the nines in future posts.
